This is where I stand on major issues (for my future voters):
1. Life Issues: The sanctity of human life must be protected no matter what, because it is what makes us human. I am completely, 100% against human cloning, embryonic stem cell research (though I do support adult stem cell research), abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia.
2. Taxes: I believe that we should abolish the income tax because a tax on productivity entails an impediment of it. I believe we should implement the FairTax, because it is blind to race and income and focuses only on what you spend. The rich will automatically spend more and be taxed more, while the poor will automatically spend less and be taxed less, but not because the government decides it; YOU decide how much you are taxed. It is a flat, fair tax. I believe the government has no right to rip the money you work hard for every day right out of your hands and use it for such irresponsible purposes, such as the stimulus, the healthcare bill, etc.
3. National Security: First up, war. I believe that war can solve problems but should follow the Catholic "just war" principle (example: I believe Iraq was a just war). Second, immigration. I believe that racial profiling will help us tremendously. Illegal immigration is, in fact, illegal, and if we have a discription of the suspect, it would be foolish not to use it. I agree with the AZ immigration law. Third, the War on Terror and foreign policy. I completely disagree with Obama's nuke treaty with Russia. We should never make oursleves weak by decreasing our nuclear weapons supply and telling the world how many nukes we have. Also, we MUST racially profile at airports, allow pilots and even passnegers to carry guns, and do away with the law that fines airlines who have two or more young Arab males in custody. Country comes first, always. We should interrogate terrorists, using torture methods if need be; we should NOT move Gitmo to AMERICA, and we should try TERRORISTS in a military tribunal and NOT in civilian court, and DEFINITELY not in NYC. Remember the LAST time terrorists came to New York City? Besides, they're WAR prisoners, not citizens like those they kill.
4. Gay Marriage: should not be allowed. Marriage is the sacred union between a man and a woman to produce children in the divine way God designed. I have nothing against gay people, I just don't support them marrying.
5. Healthcare: should never be controlled by the government. It must be a competitive market. People should be able to buy insurance across state lines, and the one thing the government MUST do is finally address tort reform if they REALLY care about our healthcare. We should give conscience rights to lawyers to protect them from prosecuting frivolous lawsuits so doctors don't have to worry so much about legal fees and care prices will go down because doctors won't have to compensate for legal fees. The abortion coverage in the bill is preposterous. The coverage of illegals is even stupider. THEY ARE ILLEGALS! Not to mention the trillion dollar cost of this thing. And the fact that the majority of Amercia opposed it.
6. Welfare: I don't believe in it, but I am a big supporter of private citizens creating charity organizations, like homeless shelters and soup kitchens. God helps those who helps themselves. The government helps those who don't.
7. Gun Control: pointless! If guns are criminalized, only criminals will have guns, and their victims will be defenseless. Law-abiding citizens don't shoot people. Criminals do. If massive gun control is implemented, law-abiding citizens still won't shoot people, and criminals STILL WILL. Besides, it's our constitutional right. "The people" is not collective, referring to a militia. But even if it was, we are all part of a militia, ready to protect our country and ourselves from internal and external threats.
8. Death Penalty: use rarely in dire circumstances.
9. Religion: I am a strong Catholic, but do not condemn anyone else because of religion.
10. Bailouts: oh, gosh. Don't they realize that when the government gets involved, it always ends badly? The free market system is about ups and downs. It always has been. It's what makes it free. The fact that the government owns GM doesn't help. At all. GET. OUT.
11. Government: Government has one purpose: keeping its citizens safe. We need an army and secure borders and freedom. You don't need a huge government to do that.
