Okay. I assume some people will probably be offended by the fact that I don't think global warming is the massive deal everyone makes it out to be. I could be wrong, so sorry for assuming the worst of you people.
What really gets me is that we focus so much on when the world's going to end. If you're watching a performance and only focus on "I can't wait for the finale", then you'll miss the show. See, it's not about when we die, it's about how we live. I can't say that enough.
It's not, "Aieeee, global warming! Eeeeek, an ice age!" The predicted demise of our Earth is always changing (and usually wrong).
This is what we should say, "Goodness! We are so careless and full of glutton. We should be more careful and considerate of what we have." Or something like that.
You know, to change the subject, I always joke about how my friends have huge posters of Twilight (that they kiss every night), the Jonas brothers (that they kiss morning, noon, AND night), and other famous people whose names I don't know (because I really don't care about the fake stuff; I care about what affects me). And then I say, "They have all their posters of actors and bands, and I have handmade anti-FOCA posters, and if I could I'd get big posters of Glenn Beck Bill O'Reilly, Steven Colbert, Mike Huckabee." And then no one would come over to my house. Oh, well. I probably wouldn't be at my house anyway; I'd be at a protest outside the White House or something.
It's just that no one cares about anything off the concert stage or outside the TV (besides shows like "Huckabee", "The O'Reilly Factor", "The Colbert Report", and "Glenn Beck"; no one my age cares about them, either). Stupid society. You're breeding a race of zombies with eyes glued to screens and minds indifferent to what happens around them, to them. I have two friends that care about this stuff; one opponent that cares about this stuff; and then the rest of teenage humanity that I have come into contact with just tells me to shut up. Shut up, society.
My best friend wants to make a difference. She sees what the government is doing, what's happening to her future. You know what her mom said to her?
"You don't have an opinion." Are you kidding? I have an opinion, and if you want proof, read this next part:
1. Government should have minimal control.
2. Spending DOES NOT decrease debt.
3. Abortion is the murder of an innocent human.
4. The 2008-09 presidential race was nothing about color but all about issues for me. Yet I got accused of being racist. I put up a sign for our mock election that said, "I'm not racist, I'm just not socialist." It got taken down. Why? "If you say you are not racist, you really are." I think I should be the judge of that, for one. Second, I'm not racist, and third, even if I was, I have freedom of speech!
5. Gay marriage, embryonic stem cell research, cloning, euthanasia, assisted suicide... all WRONG.
SOCIETY, SHUT UP. AMERICA, FUTURE, WAKE UP. THIS ISN'T A TV SHOW WITH A HAPPY ENDING, NOR IS IT THE CHORUS OF YOUR FAVORITE SONG. THIS IS REAL.
WAKE UP.

Liberals
Liberals annoy me. Unfortunately, most of my classmates are liberals. If they care about politics at all, they support the left wing side. They support Obama, abortion, spending your way out of debt... all of those horrible things that basically come together in the one word that sums it all up: liberals.
My friend said, "Sarah, if we didn't have abortions, think of how bad the populations would be." That's like saying, "If we didn't have murders and diseases and accidents, THINK HOW BAD THE POPULATION WOULD BE."
Huh?!?!?!?!?!? Okay, listen. This is human life we're talking about here. The whole world's population could fit in Texas, and each individual could have over a thousand square feet to themselves. Don't tell me about overpopulation. Overpopulation and Zeus live together; they are myths.
So, if someone went on a homicidal rampage, it would be okay because we need mass murderers to keep the population in check, right? If Hitler came back from the dead, we would jump for joy because we wouldn't have so many POPULATION issues, right? Riiiiight.
Liberals. }:-(

Bracelets (Ms. California, terrorists, "green-ness")
Ms. California first, because that's the place that she should have gotten. She exercised her freedom of speech (very diplomatically, might I add), and what happened? She got punished. She was given second place FOR HER OPINION.
My opinion is that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. It is a sacred union and gay marriage is not. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't hate gay people. I disagree with gay rights. That's all.
Now for "torturing" terrorists.
Okay. First of all, these are terrorists. They want to bring us down. We have gained valuable information from these "harsh methods". And what are we SUPPOSED to do? Just give them a friendship bracelet and send them on their merry way?
I don't think so.
And finally, Earth Day. Okay. I am totally against human carelessness and greed. But I think global warming is overrated. I mean, almost forty years ago, they were predicting an ice age and that 75-80% of animal species would be extinct by now. Um, no.
Also, does this seem weird? Forty years ago, ice age. Now, global warming. What is UP with that?
I'm not saying that we aren't careless and greedy. I'm saying that some enviro-fanatics believe that the human race is, like, this horrible THING that keeps destroying our Earth. That's really extreme. So let's take care of our Earth, but not forget--humans are the most valuable things (which is why we need to take care of our home). I think that global warming is blown way out of proportion. Plus, overpopulation is a myth. Just a note.
So, we have:
1) A girl who loses a contest because she voiced her opinion
2) People who want to protect the Earth, though some of them think that humans are horrible creatures destroying our planet that need to be taken down and put in check
3) And we now cannot treat terrorists like terrorists. Now, we are "buddies"
Wonderful. Let's all be friends: you, me, Ms. California, Obama, and the terrorists. Uh-huh. See how that goes.
And we also have:
1)Terrorists walking away with friendship bracelets
2)A rightful winner walking away with a second-place bracelet
3) People who want to exterminate mankind (okay, not really) walking away with green bracelets.
And listen. I'm totally against human carelessness, like I said before. But forty years ago, like I said before, they were predicting that an ice age and the extinction of 80% of animal species would have happened by now. Well, I don't know what you're seeing, but... not happening.
I say we should stop thinking about and predicting and planning and focusing on the end of the world, for two reasons.
1) The world will end sometime anyway
2) We should stop focusing on when we're going to DIE and more on how we LIVE.
And it starts with us: the future. Today.

Tea Party
Forenote (not sure if there's any such thing... there is now): I was told not to use capitals because it looks like I'm yelling. I am. Thanks for the tip. This gives my writing more feeling.
I'm sure that many of you know about the tea parties that went on; on April 15, tax day, people protested the fact that the government was irresponsible with money, and not just ANY money. OUR money. Both in the way they spend it and in the way they so freely take it from us. I had the privilege to join one of those tea parties.
We protested high and ever-increasing taxes.
We protested the stimulus bill. Taxation without deliberation is what we called it. Some people say, well, the stimulus bill is over and done with, so why protest? Well, if the government got away with it once, they'll think they can do it again. The idea that stimulus bills are okay will be kept alive. We, the people, said NO.
We dumped biodegradable tea in the bay, because just because we're resisting them doesn't mean that we won't be civil. I have a classmate who is the most liberal person you will ever see, besides Obama. He said, mocking me, "Oh, yeah, we're rebels, but we don't want to get in trouble, so we're using biodegradable tea." First of all, we're not rebels. We're people, fighting for what's right. And we're really only doing what's right all the way around. Protesting peacefully. Not hurting the water by doing so. We're not VANDALISTS. We're citizens. But we won't just let the government grow and grow and gain more and more power. Not right. We're citizens. It's our duty to say, "NO WAY!!!"
We delivered letters to our Congressmen, and as we walked, we carried signs that said,
Commander and Thief
Keep your change, I want my money back!
Taxed Enough Already
You can't spend your way out of debt!
Our Congressmen spent MY FUTURE!
Give me liberty, not debt!
We'll keep our money, guns, and freedom, you stick your change!
And things like that.
Once I was asked, "What's wrong with codependence?" Nothing, if it's not overly present and pretty much a way of life. But it was codependence that got us into this economic mess. And don't we celebrate Independence Day, not Codependence Day?
Once I was asked, "What's wrong with codependence?" Nothing, if it's not overly present and pretty much a way of life. But it was codependence that got us into this economic mess. And don't we celebrate Independence Day, not Codependence Day?
We were--and are--too, too dependent on our government. Times got tough and we ran to our government, time and time again--"Save me, save me!"--and voila! look at the government! We let them grow and grow and grow, did nothing to stop them... we PROMOTED their growth ("Save me, save me!"). Sure, it's not really our fault that 787 billion dollars was wasted, there are probably more bailouts coming, and we're 13 trillion dollars into debt. We didn't do any of that. The government has a lot of greed and powerlust woven into its very core. But who let that happen? It's like, you give a murderer a gun and later say, "Oh, look at the news! Homicidal rampage! OMG, I know that guy!!!! Hey, I gave him that gun for a birthday present!" It's indirectly our fault. The government is still a LOT at fault, but we elect them, we don't stop them, and what do we expect? We crawl crying to the government. They open their arms to us, simultaneously broadening the reaches of their tentacles.
I signed the proclamation to our Congressmen. I signed the big sign that says, "We'll keep our money, guns, and freedom, you stick your change!" And you know what this man said as he handed me the permanent marker to sign it? He said, "Go ahead, sign it. It's your future they're peein' away." I couldn't have said it better myself.
Tea parties are great, but there needs to be more. It needs to be a combination, a coalition, a collection of blogs and protests and letters and marches and speeches and everything we can think of, plus one. It's gonna take words out loud and on written paper, actions as an ASSEMBLY, which we have the freedom to gather in, and actions individually. It's going to take upset members of the present, and OUTRAGED founders of the future. It's going to take we, the people, including you and me. We're included in the "every man, woman, AND CHILD" that has 300,000+ dollars of debt, if the government's debt were to be divided among the people. That's us (excuse the language some might call crude, please; thanks). And it's our future they're peein' away.

How Would You Feel...
People say to me, in response to my saying that abortion is wrong no matter what, "How would you feel if you were raped, and you had to have a baby because abortion was illegal?"
For you prolifers, if anyone has ever asked you that, ask them, "How would you feel if you were aborted, because abortion WASN'T illegal?"
Well, you'd feel a bit dead, first of all, and a bit jipped because you got cheated out of life and no one ever asked you if it was okay. You'd be ticked because your own mother killed you, even though she may have felt she had to.
There's another thing about abortion. All the immediate positions are bad. Imagine being the mother, whose baby is being killed. Imagine being the doctor. How could you look yourself in the mirror every night and know that you were responsible for the death of an innocent baby? Now imagine being the baby. It's not rocket science (not medical science either, by any stretch of the imagination--medicine is a science that tries to help everyone and save lives--and saving the mother by killing the baby doesn't count) that being the baby in the whole arrangement is also a bad position. I mean, the baby is the one DYING. If all the positions in an abortion are bad, what does that say about... abortion? Hmmmm...
And what about Obama's position in an abortion, in every abortion? Despicable. He has the power of, well, power, and persuasion, and he chooses to sign FOCA (well, he said he would). How would he feel if he was aborted? I'd like to ask him that. He'd feel dead and jipped, just like we all would. We all, including him, could easily have been one of the over 4000 children killed by abortion each day. Just one difference between us. He has the power. And he chooses to do the wrong thing. He needs an Uncle Ben (with great power comes great responsibility).
When people say, "What about all the girls who get raped? What about 16-year-old girls who get raped? Do they have to have their baby?"
"No," you can reply, "there's always the option of KILLING it. If they don't want their baby, since abortion is legal, of course they don't have to have it, they can KILL it! Yay! Besides, sarcasm aside, less than 4% of abortions claim rape, incest, or even serious medical issues, so that's not a very stable argument."
I actually told one person that fact, and they responded, "Well, we need to care for that 4%." Duh, but we really need to care for the CHILDREN of that 4%.
One of my friends supports abortion because of all the girls who get raped, as well as "freedom of choice". I know others who support it for the same reasons. Here are my friend's arguments:
"Well, it's her choice if she wants to have the baby or not."
"Well, it's not HER fault she got raped, why should she have to have the baby?"
Okay. First, you talk about babies like they are PUNISHMENTS. What? Just because our President says they are punshments doesn't mean they are. I have six siblings and they are all precious. I'll tell them what a punishment they are, compliments of Obama and my friend.
Second, there are over two million couples waiting to adopt, so she wouldn't have to keep this despicable "punishment". It's selfish to take away ther chance at having a child.
And finally, you say that it's not the mother's fault, so she should be able to abort the baby.
Well, it's not the baby's fault, either. That little growing soul inside her should be able to live.
There are many arguments FOR abortion.
We had to save the mother.
Well, she got raped.
She was emotionally stressed.
The baby isn't really alive.
The mother's health was in danger.
There are so many tricks and excuses. They do nothing to change the fact that abortion is wrong. Obama, you should know this. But it doesn't look like you do from your quote below, bold added.
“I’ve got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I’m going to teach them first of all about values and morals but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at the age of 16, you know.”
Mr. President, DO YOU THINK A HUMAN BEING IS A PUNISHMENT?
And one more thing. You care more about the horrible things we do to interrogate terrorists than you do about the horrible things we do to unborn children. In other words, the lives of terrorists are more important to Obama than the lives of innocent babies.
Did I mention that abortion also hurts the mother? Well, it does. It can make it harder to have a baby in the future, make them have more miscarriages, and cause other physical problems. But the real kicker is that some women have committed suicide after an abortion when they realized what they had done. They KNOW. Doctors KNOW. Obama, I can't believe you don't KNOW; you must KNOW. This is human life we're talking about. Human life like you and me. Whether anyone (incorrectly) considers it a punishment or not, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE AN INNOCENT HUMAN LIFE. But, since you're in power, you can, sadly. You don't use your power with reponsibility.
In China, they are building the Three Gorges Dam (it gets finished this year) because floods on the Yangtze River kill an average of 3,000 people per year.
Abortion kills 4,400 children each day.
In China (I don't know why I'm using China as the Example Of The Day; it just provides good food for thought), they have a law called the One-Child policy. Some women are forced into abortions and sterilizations. Some kill female babies. This is HUMAN LIFE here! It's not something that you just place into categories; valuable, whatever, worthless, potentially valuable... no, NO, NO!!!

Anyway
Does Obama know what abortion does and what FOCA will do? If he does, I don't know why he is being so... anyway. Obama wants to "transform America" by passing FOCA. I don't know what a transformation means to him. I have no idea. I don't want to know. I just know that he's... anyway. He smiled through that whole thing like he was giving kindergartners a new playground. He was talking about ABORTING future kindergartners. He said, "The first thing I'd do as President is sign the Freedom Of Choice Act. That's the first thing I'd do." This is what he's saying:
"I'm gonna sign a bill that would let a thirteen-year-old girl get an abortion from someone who may not be a real physician or from an unsafe clinic without telling her parents, much less getting consent; she could get an abortion from a doctor who does not want to give the abortion but has to; she could get an abortion without being told the risks or any alternatives; and all this would be funded by your taxpayer dollars! Plus, partial birth abortion would be made legal in EVERY STATE! Aren't you gonna vote for me, people?" Sadly, and for some unheard-of reason, people did vote for him. I have no idea why... It could be that we don't know
1) what FOCA is, and
2) what an abortion, especially partial-birth abortion, is.
Let's break it down: very simple, very basic.
You already know what FOCA is; I just told you above. I'm not being radical and exaggerating; whoever the heck wrote FOCA is radical and TOTALLY LOOOOOPY and... anyway.
Abortion is any pregnancy that doesn't end with a live birth; it technically includes miscarriages, but we'll use the term "abortion" to refer only to induced abortion. So, abortion involves killing an unborn baby. Simple, like I told you. After 18 days a baby's heart is beating; AT LEAST then it's alive, but I believe it's alive at conception. It grows, to the point of having a heartbeat, like a living human. Simple.
Abortion has many gruesome methods I don't care to relate. If FOCA is signed, then America is nothing more than a bunch of Nazis, killing innocent people. Babies, no less! Only instead of concentration camps, we have DOCTORS killing unborn children. Gotta love America, land of the FreeDUMB of choice act and home of... anyway.
